Family Christmas Party Games - Everyone Can Join In

For many families the Christmas holiday celebrations must begin with a few fun family games to help get everyone into the spirit of Christmas. The idea is to let everyone have some fun and to get people laughing.

This Christmas holiday why not plan a few new games to spice up the party and get the fun started. Children in particular love playing party games and using a Christmas themed game is a great way to liven up the holiday festivities.

A Popular Family Christmas Party Game That Is Guaranteed To Increase The Holiday Laughter

A Christmas Gift party game that is a really fun game to play is ‘Open the Christmas Present’ and while it sounds easy at first, it comes with a few surprises that increases the overall level of fun for the participants. The object of this game is to be the first person to open a Christmas gift while wearing oven mitts, a hat and a scarf while trying to open the package.

Before the game begins you have to wrap the gift with layers of gift-wrap making sure to use plenty of tape to make it difficult to unwrap the item. Put the mittens, scarf and hat in a cardboard box and set it in the middle of the room. Then introduce a dice and a cake pan. Everyone must then sit in a circle around the cardboard box containing the clothing.
The rules of the game are that each person takes a turn to roll the dice (in the cake tin) trying to throw a number 6. When a 6 is thrown that person then gets up, goes over to the box containing the clothing. The person puts on the hat and scarf and then the oven mittens and goes about trying to unwrap the gift.

While this is going on the other participants take turn to roll the dice, again trying to throw a number 6. Once somebody else throws a 6 the person currently trying to unwrap the gift stops, removes the hat, scarf and mittens and returns them to the box and gets back in the circle ready for their turn to roll the dice.

Now the person who has just rolled the number 6 gets up and puts on the clothing and takes over trying to unwrap the gift while wearing the oven mittens.

This person gets to continue working on opening the package until someone else rolls the correct number on the die. The game continues to move in this same fashion until someone has successfully unwrapped the present.

This family Christmas party game is a lot of fun with lots of shrieking and yelling particularly from the people who hardly get a chance to put on the hat before another 6 is rolled and another person gets to take control over the present.

A word of advice…….You may want to have plenty of spare gifts wrapped because once the first game has finished the kids will want to do it all over again and again and again.
